Volcanoes Erupt in P4!

As part of their Roman topic, P4 have been looking at how Mount Vesuvius erupted in 79AD and devastated the nearby city of Pompeii. But residents of Baillieston can rest easy as our volcanic eruptions were created using baking soda, food dye and vinegar - however the results were explosive!

The children worked together in groups to create model volcanoes to host the re-enactment of the eruption. As the rest of the school looked on there were gasps of amazement as the P4 volcanoes erupted - bubbling over the models.

Before the experiment was conducted the children prepared by discussing how we could make a fair test and what they thought may happen?
