Breakfast Club

Fuel Zone has revolutionised school catering.
The traditional counter has been replaced with a 'High Street' style service system with the focus on creating a bright, informal and encouraging atmosphere where you can enjoy lunch. A wide range of healthy food is available that tastes and looks good. In primary schools free milk is available at lunch time to everyone.

Initiatives such as Big Breakfast and Refresh are also available. Research shows that eating a breakfast helps you concentrate and perform better in school.  At St Francis of Assisi we have a very popular Breakfast Club which begins at 8am. Children receive a variety of items including cereal, fruit juice and toast at a cost of £2 per day. For Children who are entitled to a free meal this is a free service.

At lunch time, children eat together in the dining hall, supervised by the catering staff and members of the Senior Management Team.   Packed lunches may be brought and pupils will be supervised in the Dining Hall. Fuel-Zone lunches cost £1.90.  Please remember all children in P1-P3 eat for free.

The latest menu can be found here.

Children of parents/guardians receiving Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance (Income Based) and Child Tax Credit only (where income is less than £14,155) are entitled to a free midday meal.   Information and application forms for free school meals may be obtained from schools and from Grants Section at Education Services headquarters.
