"We would like to gather your views and opinions on the future of Breakfast Clubs in Glasgow Primary Schools. There are currently four options (details included in the supporting documents) and we would like to hear your views about each of them. The proposals have been developed after research and consultation with selected primary school headteachers and Cordia, who operate the Breakfast Clubs.

Option 1 - Discontinue breakfast provision

Option 2 - Retain breakfast provision but increase the cost for those eligible to pay

Option 3 - Clustering - breakfast club offered in one school for other local schools - children would attend the breakfast club and then make their way to their own school

Option 4 - Discontinue breakfast clubs that do not meet certain criteria for example, number of children attending/cost to run the breakfast club

The purpose of the consultation is to consider ways to reduce the subsidy of £2.0m that Glasgow City Council currently invests in breakfast club provision. Glasgow City Council wishes to minimise the impact of any changes to working families and those children in receipt of free breakfast. In their responses, respondees are asked to take account of the impact of potential changes on working families and those in greatest need.
